About Us

The 12wbt Perth Crew is a group of more than 1,400 people that have signed up for the Michelle Bridges 12 Week Body Transformation and changed their lives. When the Perth Crew first started in August 2010 there were only 4 people! In January 2011 there was about 30 of us, and in the last 18 months we have grown to a membership of more than 1,400 people! We have members that have lost 50, 60 and even 70 kilos!!!

While we may have lost kilos along the way, what we have gained is far more valuable....friends. And really we are more than just friends, we are family, and at times we have been even referred to as a cult!! We have helped each other become the best versions of ourselves that we can be. Over the past few years we have shared so much as a group - weight loss, births, deaths, marriages, successes and yes sometimes failures. But at every step of the way we knew that we could turn to each other in our times of need.

Not all of us in the Perth Crew are runners, but it is at fun runs that you will truly see the true spirit of Perth Crew. Even those not competing will come along in their red shirts to cheer in every single last team member. As a runner you can’t help but smile and have an extra spring in your step if you see another red shirt up ahead or on the sideline cheering you on.

As the 12wbt changed our lives, we have then in turn changed the lives of those around us. Slowly but surely friends, husbands, brothers and sisters have seen our success and got on board with us. Along the way, we adopted “Inspire and be inspired” as the Perth Crew motto and we all now proudly wear this on our wrist bands as a constant reminder.

As well as getting on with the business of being fit & healthy though, we are trying very much to have a "social conscience" and to raise funds for charities where possible. Early in 2011 when the Make a Wish foundation was low on funding and no longer granting wishes we raised funds and sent one of our members and her two sons Marley & Morris (Marley has Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia) to Coff’s Harbour to make his wish to swim with dolphins come true – we were able to fund airfares, accommodation, meals, tours & entry to the dolphins swim, with enough leftover for an iPad for Marley’s hospital visits.

More recently, one of our members Moira Clay embarked on a huge journey, supporting The Telethon Adventurers and climbing Gran Paradiso the highest mountain in Italy. In the process with the help of the Perth Crew she has raised almost $20,000!!
